If you need a little more bling in your life, consider bejeweling your shoes. Heels and wedges are the more popular candidates for bejeweling but you can also add some glitz to your sneakers or flip flops. The project may be a little time consuming but the results will be glamorous and totally worth it!
Things You Need

Clean shoes/heels
Flat back rhinestones
Strong adhesive / Fabric Glue
Tray for Rhinestones
Jewellery Setter / Tweezers
Toothpick / Qtip / Old Toothbrush
Soft / microfiber cloth
Rubbing alcohol
Part 1 : Prepare Your Shoes
Choose the Shoes to Bejewel
Bejewel Shoes Fun Fact: Bejeweled shoes can come in all styles - from heels, flats, wedges, boots or tennis shoes. There is no type of shoe that cannot be spruced up with glittery stones or two. New and plain shoes will work the best. You can also use older ones as long as they are clean and in good condition.
Clean the Shoes
Wipe the shoes down around the area that you will bejewel with a damp cloth. If the shoes are especially dirty, smother in a drop of detergent. Be careful of the material of the shoes in case it may discolor.
Think of Your Design
Decide where you want the rhinestones to go. You will be working with strong adhesives, so it will be difficult to fix mistakes. You may want to start off working on only a specific area, such as the heel portion of a pair of stilettoes or the toe cap of your sneakers. It is not recommended that you cover the entire shoe.
Part 2 : Applying the Rhinestones

Applying Strong Adhesive to the Design Area of the Shoes.
Use a toothpick to apply the adhesive to the design area of the shoe. Ensure you use strong adhesive or you can use fabric glue for cloth materials. Work in small patches for easier management and to prevent the glue from drying out too fast.
Applying Rhinestones to Your Shoes
For a start, you can purchase rhinestones at any arts and crafts store. Using a pair of tweezers or simply your fingers to lightly press against the top of each rhinestone. Do not press too hard or it may get stuck and not adhere properly to the glue. Place the rhinestones next to each other for the ultimate sparkly look or further apart for a more subtle look. Be creative…this is your time to shine!
Part 3 : Completing Your Masterpiece

Wait for the Glue to Set
Once you have applied the stones to your heart’s content, allow the glue to dry at least 24 hours before wearing the shoes. Ensure it is completely dry before wearing the shoes.
Cleaning Up
Using a q-tip or an old toothbrush, clean up any residue with rubbing alcohol. The adhesive will dry clear. If it is not very noticeable, it is better to just leave it as it is.
Buffing the Rhinestones
Using a soft or microfibre cloth, buff any wax or fingerprints on the rhinestones until the residue is gone. Wear your newly embellished shoes out to that company party or a night out on the town with your favourite little black dress and wait for the compliments to roll in!
